Ilgaz Mountains are located in the Black Sea region, between Kastamonu and Çankırı provinces. These mountain ranges are known to be the highest mountain mass in the Western Black Sea region, with a mass of exactly 50 km. Peak height is based on 2546 meters.
TRANSPORTATION OF ILGAZ MOUNTAIN - ILGAZ SKI CENTER?

Ilgaz Mountains are located 40 km from Kastamonu, 210 km from Ankara and 460 km from Istanbul. Thus, you can determine the route directly according to your proximity. If you have decided to come over the city of Istanbul, you can reach the Ilgaz Mountains after reaching Kastamonu from Samsun, Çankırı direction after reaching the city borders of Karabük after the Ankara highway route and after reaching Gerede exit, you can reach the borders of Karabük.

It is the highest mountain of both the Black Sea and the western Black Sea. There are 2 high hills in the Ilgaz mountain region. Another narration is that in the Turkish dictionary, the meaning of the country is derived from the word Elgas, which emerged due to the union of the people who lived here in the past, and the name remained as Ilgaz Mountain.
